Aftermath of protests in Riga

January 14th, 2009 by Latvia

Today was a bad day for many offices and companies residing in Old Town of Riga. Last nights rioting protesters left many buildings without windows, shops without goods and police cars wrecked.

Modern day democracy or idiocy?.. Most of Latvian blogs today share views and analysis of what and why happened.

Note that many of violent protesters are said to be of Russian descent. What a surprise, indeed.
