Frozen Dauguva in Riga

February 5th, 2009 by Latvia

Many tourists are amazed by frozen river Daugava right in the center of Riga. But not exactly this year, as temperatures aren’t that low and you can see only some parts of river frozen.

If you see ice and people on it, make sure you check how thick it is before getting on it – try to hit it hard with one foot on the ground and other on ice. Just to make sure you don’t end your winter trip to Latvia under water :D
